Resume Review/Interview Prep

🎉 As part of our ongoing commitment to enabling especially early career people into tech - we're excited to offer an hour 1:1 micro-mentoring session. This is an opportunity for fellows to engage with industry experts (aka you) on career pathing and feedback.

Please note, this volunteering opportunity does not require a technical background. We will email out the resume for your fellow 3 days before the event. 

Agenda:

• (10 mins) ProgramEarth  gives quick intro about resume best practices and sets up breakout rooms with a list of interview questions
• (35 mins) Fellows are matched with mentors in breakout rooms:
  • Mentors/Mentees share their personal and professional journeys and discuss areas of interest.
  • Provide resume feedback, ask the mentee their 3-5 year planning goals, plans to achieve their goals, and discuss skills necessary to achieve these goals; what type of training should your mentee receive to grow in this field?  Be specific and give specific resources if you can.
  • Explain the STAR method for answering interview questions
